And there was light ... all the rooms are finally well lighted. If absolute darkness was utterly overwhelming, now the many lights skilfully placed in crucial spots inside the tomb present us with a new, impressive sight. The structure of the whole site and its precious reliefs are finally revealed to us more clearly.

Our first visit with the “blessing of light” was with the Area Heads, Dr. Fathi Yassin and El Ezz Noubi.

Meanwhile…  we put up our tent in the courtyard. We had bought it in Cairo, in the bustle of Khan el-Khalili market. It is big enough (4mx4m) to allow us to study comfortably in there, away from the sun or the wind. Winter is approaching and the temperatures are dropping. The wind keeps us company in the early morning. Hassan, Ali and Bari lent a valuable hand in the challenging tent pitching process. They really did a great job!
